Yatta Beekeepers Limited supplies high-quality organic beeswax sourced from sustainably managed apiaries across Kenya and East Africa. Our beeswax is produced through environmentally responsible beekeeping practices that protect bee colonies, biodiversity, and local ecosystems while improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
We are working towards organic certification with Ecocert, which ensures that our beeswax meets internationally recognized organic standards.
Organic Production Standards
For beeswax to qualify as organic, strict production guidelines must be followed:
- Apiary location
Beehives must be placed in areas free from synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and industrial contamination. Our apiaries are located in natural ecosystems, agroforestry zones, and conservation landscapes where bees forage on diverse natural vegetation. - Natural beekeeping practices
The bees are not treated with antibiotics or prohibited chemical substances. Colony health is maintained using natural hive management techniques and ecological beekeeping practices. - Traceability and farmer support
Yatta Beekeepers works closely with trained smallholder beekeepers, providing extension services, modern beekeeping equipment, and quality control systems that ensure traceable and responsibly harvested beeswax.
Quality Control and Testing
Each batch of beeswax undergoes independent laboratory testing to verify quality, purity, and compliance with organic standards.
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is provided for every batch to confirm parameters such as:
- Residue analysis (pesticides and contaminants)
- Melting point
- Ester and acid values
- Hydrocarbon content
- Color and purity
Applications of Yatta Organic Beeswax
Our beeswax can be refined and supplied in several grades depending on the end use:
